Everywhere to be but Nowhere to belong
"Everywhere to be but Nowhere to belong" quoted by Madam Tshering Denkar, commonly known as Denkar's Getaway has made a lasting impression on me and everyone else during the seminar last time. The particular block week of Wildlife science has made me realize how beautiful our country is and why it is important to explore. So, we went to Chhukha dzongkhag for a week to study the wildlife science. The places we visited within Chhukha Dzongkhang are:
1. Gedu
Most of our study sites were around Gedu area. Gedu is not always foggy and the mornings in Gedu are really pretty.
.
2. Darla
Our guesthouse was in Darla and everyday after activities, we returned there. Darla is such a beautiful place and there is more to it.
PS- In love with Darla
3. Phaktshoding Lake
It is a popular getaway in Gedu. There are diversity of bird species along the trail towards the lake. Local people, they pay homage to the deities and the lake is considered to be a wishful lake. It is said that the prayers you make are always answered.
4. Jigmechhu, Kalikhola
It is located along the banks of Wangchhu and is 180m above the sea level. So, the place is in the tropical region and it was really hot. Jigmechhu was one of our study site for the freshwater biodiversity. We even got to witness a hornbill flying. It is popular for its campsite and the place is also frequently visited by the elephants.
When I travel to Phuentsholing and pass by Gedu, I used to think that Chhukha is such a small place and is very boring. But after staying for a week in Chhukha, I came to know the beauty of the place and realized there are more to it. Therefore, let us all be citezen of nowhere, but belonging everywhere.
